I've recently discovered that Josh is deeply interested in computers so here goes:



August, 1987:

Josh heard the engine of her car go quiet as she arrived home.

"It's magic!" Donna exclaimed right at his ear. The sheer volume made him jump away from her.

"It's called a computer." He corrected and pulled at his ear to make it stop ringing.

"What else can it do? Peter, dear, we must get one of those!" She spun towards her husband with eyes glowing from excitement.

"It's nothing more than a fancy toy." Peter scolded from his place on the sofa, five steps away from them "It's another trick for corporations to get our money."

Josh heard heels clicking on the gravel as she walked up to the front door.

"It's a computer." He was really starting to repeat himself "It's the future and has amazing potential to develop beyond the realms of anything you can imagine."

"The dirigible was the future as well! Now only the rich have it. How much did you pay for this nonsense, Joshua?" Peter was stubborn he'd give him that.

"It was a gift." Josh replied "But trust me, by the turn of the millennium everyone is going to have one!"

Peter scoffed. Josh mentally debated if he should continue the argument. The other man didn`t believe in anything that wouldn`t work after being smashed. Innovative technology such as the computers was too sophisticated for him. They were a far cry from those on his home planet, but just the thought of seeing them evolve, seeing all the different paths humanity could take with computers made him giddy with excitement. Even this simple machine was such a source of inspiration...

The front door slammed opened she was yelling: "If you don`t get in the shower right..."

"We have guests!" Josh interrupted, before she could say anything too damaging.

Aleera appeared around the corner with a bright smile that was too strained around the edges. "Donna! Peter! What a pleasant surprise!"
